Ready meals company Bistro Express has boosted growth nationally through APC Overnight’s delivery services. Bistro Express provides wholesome alternatives to the usual lunch box fare and APC Overnight delivers next day for meals purchased from the Bistro Express website (www.bistro-express.co.uk). Within the next two years, Bistro Express is forecasting that more than 60,000 cases of its ambient meals will be sold over the web and delivered by APC Overnight.

After customers have placed their orders on the Bistro Express website, collections are booked online, which alerts the depot. The system prints the parcel labels automatically and these are attached to the courier packs (each pack takes a presentation case of six meals) ready for collection by 4pm each day. The system also provides traceability and proof of delivery.

Bistro Express food quality is achieved using a unique microwaveable process, with long life assured through a special food container, which keeps all the freshness in. No further special packaging or transport is required. Both the production method and the packaging are patented and unique to Bistro Express, which means that no other company in the world can use the processes.
